A Dog Called Money
Paradise presents the Canadian premiere of this part-travelogue, part-album recording doc, the result of a creative collaboration between indie rock icon P.J. Harvey and celebrated war photographer Seamus Murphy. Harvey joins Murphy on reporting trips to Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Washington DC where she seeks inspiration for her arresting 2016 album, The Hope Six Demolition Project. The film offers insight into Harvey’s artistic process through provocative layers of voyeurism, from Harvey’s visceral cultural observations to the performance of the album through one-way windows at London’s Somerset House.
Filmmaker Seamus Murphy will join us by Skype following the film to participate in a Q&A led by Exclaim's Assistant Online Editor Sarah Murphy.
