Audrey Tautou shines as Amélie, a shy waitress who decides to secretly improve the lives of her acquaintances and coworkers in director Jean-Pierre Jeunet's feel-good modern classic. Jeunet constructs a film you want to live inside of, imbuing Paris with a whimsical magic courtesy of a supporting cast of delightful oddballs, subtle digital effects and acrobatic camera work by cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel. Famously spurned by the Cannes Film Festival before going on to conquer box offices across the globe, Amélie remains a heart-warming reminder of life’s small pleasures, and the magnitude of their collective impact.

In French with English subtitles.
