Monkey Warfare

Play Trailer

If Jean-Luc Godard and Richard Linklater were to team up and direct a film in Parkdale it would look something like Monkey Warfare, the droll anti-establishment comedy from Reg Harkema (Super Duper Alice Cooper). Set during one hot Toronto summer, Don McKellar and Tracy Wright play Dan and Linda, 40-something stoners and semi-professional garbage pickers whose relationship and politics are tested when Dan befriends Susan (Nadia Litz), a young pot dealer with anarchist interests. A perfect Toronto storm of marijuana, gentrification and bikes ensues.

Filmmaker Reg Harkema will be joined onstage by star Don McKellar and producers Jennifer Jonas and Leonard Farlinger for a Q&A following the film, led by West End Phoenix Editor in Chief, Dave Bidini.

Thanks to West End Phoenix for their promotional support.
