The Passion of Joan of Arc

Play Trailer

Carl Dreyer's 1928 classic remains one of the 20th century's most revered formal film experiments. Framing the emotional journey of history and cinema's oft-referenced feminist icon (played unforgettably by Maria Falconetti), we see Joan's final moments in visceral close-up. LA-based electronic composer George Sarah lends the film a new, ethereal score and performs it live in Canada for the first time, along with eight Toronto strings and vocal musicians, in what promises to be a haunting and special night of film and music.
