This October, celebrate the days leading up to All Hallows' Eve on Bloor Street- for twice the frights and twice the fun! The Paradise Presents: DOUBLE FEARTURES! Five nights of dire double bills- creepy classics old and new to welcome in the spooky season.
It's back to basics for our final Double Fearture! Two wildly different approaches to Mary Shelley's tale of a mad scientist and his beastly creation. Boris Karloff first starred as "The Monster" in James Whales' 1931 film FRANKENSTEIN, the director and star returned for the definitive film version in 1935's THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. We are thrilled to present it as the first half of our Frankenstein double bill on October 21st at the Paradise Theatre!
Bride of Frankenstein begins where James Whale’s Frankenstein from 1931 ended. Dr. Frankenstein has not been killed as previously portrayed and now he wants to get away from the mad experiments. Yet when his wife is kidnapped by his creation, Frankenstein agrees to help him create a new monster, this time a woman.
Part 2 of our ode to Mary Shelley starts at 8 PM with Mel Brooks' outrageous horror comedy 1974's YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN! You can get 30% off admission using the promo-code in your order confirmation email at checkout!
