DRAG ME TO THE MOVIES presents PINK FLAMINGOS

PINK FLAMINGOS (1972)

From May 10th - 18th The historic Paradise Theatre presents FLURRY OF FILTH: A John Waters Retrospective- spanning 35 years of artistic output from the Pope of Trash himself. This week-long descent into celluloid atrocities is presented by Weird Alice of Drag Me to the Movies.

We’re kicking off the series with a very special edition of DRAG ME TO THE MOVIES starting with the John’s most notorious film and ultimate in “midnight” movies - PINK FLAMINGOS (1972).

If you’ve never seen any of his movies and you come to this, it’s absolutely a litmus test. Before the film begins, there will be a pre-show performance from JULIE BOT and WEIRD ALICE, and there will be prizes to be won throughout the evening. PINK FLAMINGOS is “an exercise in poor taste”. Notorious Baltimore criminal and underground figure Divine goes up against Connie & Raymond Marble, a sleazy married couple who make a passionate attempt to humiliate her and seize her tabloid-given title as “The Filthiest Person Alive”. It’s truly a film like no other and is the gateway into the lifestyle of the depraved, full of bizarre novelties like you’ve never seen before including but not limited to - doggy doo-doo, eggs, chickens, first-degree murder, singing butts, hot dogs, raw meat, and much, much more!

This event has been generously sponsored by our friends at Letterboxd and Three Dollar Bill.
