DRAG ME TO THE MOVIES presents SHAKES THE CLOWN

SHAKES THE CLOWN (1991)

DRAG ME TO THE MOVIES is a recurring screening series hosted by award-winning queer artist + curator Weird Alice. This series highlights films across multiple genres with a lens firmly focused on camp, queer stories, the tragically ludicrous and the ludicrously tragic. Each edition is paired with a different queer artist appearing live with pre-show performances and other out of the box interactive features to make cinema-going a unique and exciting experience.

LOVED BY CHILDREN. DESIRED BY WOMEN. ADORED BY BARTENDERS EVERYWHERE. Don't bring the kids to April's edition of Drag Me To The Movies! Join Weird Alice and special guest Pearle Harbour as they explore a career in the party-clown-arts as they revisit Bobcat Goldthwait's offbeat cult classic- it's 1991's SHAKES THE CLOWN!

Dueling gangs of clowns are pitted against each other in this outrageous dark comedy. Shakes, an alcoholic kid's party clown, finds himself framed for murder and must get off the sauce to clear his name.
