SOCIETY OF THE SNOW is the new film from acclaimed Spanish director
J.A. BAYONA. It’s an adaptation of a book by PABLO VIERCI, who attended Stella Maris College in Montevideo, Uruguay, together with survivors of the Andes flight disaster. Bayona uses the Uruguayan author’s book, written 36 years after the airplane crashed, to give a voice to the survivors and to those who didn’t make it out alive. The event, which took place 50 years ago last year, is well known around the world and has affected (and continues to affect) generations of people.
