In the near future where emotions have become a threat, Gabrielle finally decides to purify her DNA in a machine that will immerse her in her past lives and rid her of any strong feelings. She then meets Louis and feels a powerful connection, as if she had known him forever.

Desire in Motion is thrilled to presentThe Beastby French auteur Bertrand Bonello (Nocturama, House of Tolerance) for our final screening of 2025. Co-produced by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan (Mommy), this genre-blending odyssey spans decades as two star-crossed lovers (Léa Seydoux and George MacKay) are continuously drawn to each other despite the prickly obstacles that stand between them. The film was ranked #15 on “The 100 Best Movies of the 2020s (So Far)” list by IndieWire and is as a bold vision of yearning, human connection, and resistance against a dystopian AI future where emotions have become a threat. -JACOB CREPEAULT
