All Work & No Play
To kick off Paradise Book Club’s 2026 lineup, we’re thrilled to present our very first author retrospective, ALL WORK & NO PLAY: 50 YEARS OF STEPHEN KING ON SCREEN, running Feb 24 – Mar 31 at The Paradise!
Few writers have staked a sustained claim on the popular imagination quite like Stephen King. His first published novel, Carrie, was adapted to film (for the first time) in 1976, and in the 50 years since, King’s characters, stories, and iconography – on the page and on screen – have become inextricably woven into the fabric of western pop culture.
Screening across five nights, ALL WORK & NO PLAY will showcase ten iconic King stories from across the decades as interpreted by an array of legendary filmmakers, including Stanley Kubrick, David Cronenberg, Rob Reiner, John Carpenter, and Brian De Palma. Screenings will feature introductions by series hosts Kevin Greenspan and Claire Foster.
