Hear Me Out!
HEAR ME OUT! is a bi-monthly screening series that invites Toronto-based writers, programmers, and filmmakers to pick a hated or underappreciated film and defend it as a masterpiece. These special guests will provide a passionate defense, encouraging us to re-evaluate a critical misfire, box office bomb, or an unfairly overlooked gem.
But it won’t be easy. Co-hosts Marc Basque and Lacey Novinka will be armed with scathing takes from critics and Letterboxd users alike. At the end, the audience must decide: is it a misunderstood masterpiece, or a properly rated fiasco?
HMO! is not just a series – it’s an opportunity to experience films that are unlikely to be seen on the big screen ever again, and offers audiences the chance to reclaim a new canon of camp and cult classics.
