The Alzheimer Society of Toronto is pleased to be partnering with Mexican-Canadian Director Andrea Martinez Crowther to present the Canadian, red-carpet premiere of her film Birdwatching (Observar las aves). Although purely a work of fiction, the film is shot as if it were a documentary and is loosely based on the Director’s experience with her mother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Presented in Spanish with English subtitles, the film premiered at the Los Cabos International Film Festival in 2019 where it garnered the Audience Award and then went on to have a successful festival run in Mexico and abroad.

We are thrilled that the actress, Bea Aaronson, along with the Director and AST staff, will be joining us after the showing for a panel discussion on the film.

Doors Open 30 Minutes Before Showtime.
