Toronto, Canada – After three decades of creating Queer community across Canada, the iconic House of Venus lands in Toronto for a one-night-only celebration featuring a special screening of Venus Envy: The House of Venus Story and the 30th anniversary of their legendary Wiggle performance festival. Join us for an unforgettable evening of performances, wearable art, and a Venus Reunion!

In the early 1990s, the House of Venus began its journey in the Windsor art scene, organizing DIY theme parties and making multidisciplinary art. The collective made waves by crossing the border to Detroit to showcase Venus Fashions and champion gender-bending expression. In 1995, they left for Vancouver to continue their mission of spreading love, expression, and queer community. The Collective continues to create positivity and social change through art, television, film, special events and their annual Wiggle Festival.

Venus Envy: The House of Venus Story (Michael Venus, 2023 / 79 mins) is a documentary that chronicles the House of Venus’ rise from humble beginnings to their status as an international symbol of queer culture. The film celebrates this underground movement of love, following the collective as they prepare for the 25th edition of their groundbreaking wearable art and performance festival, Wiggle.

The evening will also feature a Wiggle Festival live performance celebrating the avant-garde, drag, and, of course, the wig!

Doors Open 30 Minutes Before Showtime.
